Connecting to INEX

Once an application for INEX membership has been approved by the INEX committee and INEX members, the new member will be issued with an operations email which will outline all the details in relation to bringing their connection live at INEX and beginning peering. All new connections to INEX are subject to a 24 hour quarantine before the connection goes live on the peering LAN.

INEX supports connections to its Dublin exchange infrastructure at speeds of 1Gbps, 10Gbps and 100Gbps. The following connection types are supported in Dublin:

• 1Gbps links using standard UTP or single-mode LX connections.
• 10Gbps links using standard single-mode LR connections.
• 100Gbps links using standard single-mode LR4 connections.
• Longer distance optics (EX/ZX/ER/LR) are also supported for an additional once off fee.
• INEX can also support coloured optics for terminating DWDM wavelength connections – please contact us to discuss your specific requirements and costs.

INEX Cork supports connections at 1Gbps and 10Gbps. INEX Cork accepts connections over single-mode fibre only using LX for 1Gbps links and LR for 10Gbps links. EX/ZX/ER/ZR optics are also available for a once off additional cost.
