[ixpmanager] Provision peers without assigning physical interface

Hello,

We created some dummy ports on our route server and allocate them to the member. Comes in handy when it is a member coming in via reseller.

ip link add interface_name type dummy
ip link set dev interface_name up

Hi Thomas,

A number of things key off a physical interface being in a ‘Connected’ state.

A way around this is to create a ‘dummy’ switch with lots of ports and just assign the next port to members.

Hi!

Is there a designated way to provision peers without assigning a physical interface?

In that particualare case, some other tools are in use to orchestrate, document and gather statistics of the physical ports,
but we would like to use all the rest of the features provided by IXPManager.
