mmm, this is not without collateral damage.

Most vendors stuck with one or two different types of ifType, but 
Juniper went to town on both ifType and ifName.  Most organisations just 
don't need to see lsi, jsrv, pfh or any of the weird stuff that goes on 
under the lid.

What we might need is a flag to disable this check entirely, because 
most of the interface types are irrelevant in most cases, but in some 
situations (cough, juniper) they're indispensable.
