More generally, our plan this year is to enable more features in the
member area.

On IRR information - the IRR detail is used to generate route server
prefix lists. This uses the AS set / macro and the AS number.

I know we won't enable the ability for end users to change the ASN as
this is a key piece of data for a member. Part of provisioning a member
is ensuring they have ownership of the ASN for example. Changing it
creates a knock on effect to route collector / server configuration
generation and so forth. Changing it is something that needs to be
managed carefully by the IX.

I haven't considered enabling an end user to change the AS set / macro
before. We'd need to think this through. Having it changed after
provisioning is probably something that happens 1 - 2 times a year for
the ~100 members at INEX. I think the ability and responsibility of the
IX operator to review and vet those changes outweigh the convenience of
enabling the end user to change it. That's my initial reaction.

Now - apologies if what you meant by this question was add / edit /
delete prefixes in IXP Managers IRRDB prefix list for a member. If
that's what you meant then the answer is no. The way for a member to
effect their IRRDB entries in IXP manager is to properly publish their
intended peering routes using the appropriate IRRDB along with the
correct use of AS sets / macros. Or (better) set up their RPKI policy
for prefixes as the RPKI validation kicks in before the prefix list
validation.

Lastly, if you meant to allow customers to manually kick off a refresh
of the IRRDB information then that's already in place.

Hope that helps and please do let me know if I missed the point here
entirely!

  - Barry
