This entirely depends on what you're comfortable with. You'll have no 
issues on either FreeBSD 10.1 (EOL Dec 2016) or Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (EOL 
Apr 2019).

The hard requirement is PHP 5.4 (and this will be pushed to PHP 5.5
